With Christmas around the corner, retail sales will get a boost, but home sales usually remain unaffected by the Christmas spirit. If you are selling [...]

Halloween is an exciting time as kids ready their costumes to go trick-or-treating. Then, as November starts, families busy themselves with preparations for the upcoming holidays. With Christmas around the corner, retail sales will get a boost, but home sales usually remain unaffected by the Christmas spirit. If you are selling your home, take advantage of this weekend as the last time people will be out and about before the winter starts and the temperature drops.

Kyle Eastland blogs about how Halloween can help sell your home:

“Many people think of the fall and winter months as the ’slow time’ of year for real estate, and on average sales are a little slower. However, when you absolutely have to sell your home, it doesn’t matter what time of year it is. If you have been thinking about putting your home on the market, now might be a great time.

Let’s say you need to sell your home and live in a kid-friendly and well-populated neighborhood. What other time of year are you going to get large amounts of foot traffic walking by your house? Listing right now, before Saturday, may be the difference between finding a quick buyer, or sitting on the market through the holidays.”

In communities where there are a lot of trick-or-treaters, sellers can take advantage of foot traffic coming right to their door. Even if the neighbors aren’t looking to buy, if they get a peak inside while you hand out candy, it might spark some word of mouth interest. This Halloween, keep your for sale sign out and your house staged while you hand out candy.
